Kansas City Parkour

Kansas City Traceurs Unite

I just bought some amazing shoes for parkour. The grip on them is unlike anything I have ever worn. Here is a link to check them out. http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/products/products_KSO_m.cfm

Those shoes look crazy, can you move your toes independently?

I have these, and can vouch they are absolutely amazing.

Yeah you can move each toe. I feel like a ninja when I have them on.

Very nice, sounds like a good idea. They look pretty goofy though i think i'd rather get the K-Swiss shoes. lol

Yeah those shoes look better but I heard they will fall apart pretty fast if you do parkour in them.

well hey if you'd rather go with the K-Swiss, buy them from www.americanparkour.com
you get a $10 discount. instead of $100 you pay $90.

If your going for looks, K-swiss shoes won't raise as many eye's but if you are looking for functionality, the Five Fingers are your best bet, it's practically like being barefoot, so you train more muscles in your feet that you usually don't with shoes, and they have better grip.

yeah they look BA but i heard they hurt to land on, is that true?

The landing with them is pretty rough. I think they are best to practice things you've done enough to be confident with, watch doing precisions and things at the end of your jump range.I can see stubbed and broken toes happening easily other wise. Walking on rails with them is great, you can pretty much just wrap your feet around the bars. They're great to flow in as well. They make you much more aware of your feet, you can feel the different textures in the terrain and they certainly help with foot strength.

Working to increase your range isn't actually a problem at all as long as you try it on ground first, I train barefoot as often as possible, and when I can't, I train with my Vibrams, Unless I absolutely have no choice, I won't train in shoes. Also, if landing is rough with them, you might want to review your technique, nothing should hurt even when completely bare.

I agree. These shoes will force you to land right.

Sorry let me re-phrase, precision landings at the end of you jump range on hard terrain can be rough/tough. You have much more energy to dissipate and hardly any padding to help. So you certainly have to be dead on with technique. It's quiet different from wearing regular shoes.
